The sixth annual session of the Texas State Convention met at the Conference Center, Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas.

The Nominating Committee: Leon Ballinger, Beverly Coates, and Gary Rogand, gave its report. Jeb Owen was nominated for Vice Chairman; Vivian Rogan was nominated for Secretary. The class elected the nominees by acclamation. The class also approved the Nominating Committee’s recommendations that the Vice Chairman automatically become the Chairman after serving as Vice Chairman one year, and that officers cannot be elected two years in a row to the same office.
Bruce Coates announced that next year’s State Convention will be held February 27-28, 1999.
