The 33rd annual Oregon session of the Pacific Northwest Sacred Harp Convention was held at the Laurelhurst Club in Portland, Oregon, on the third Sunday and Saturday before in October. Ruth Linehan called the class to order leading 448b. Thom Fahrbach offered the morning prayer.

A business meeting was held and the following officers were elected: Chairperson—Ruth Linehan; Treasurer—Dorothy Mitchell; Secretary—Nancy Novotny. The 2025 Edition of The Sacred Harp was adopted as the book used for this Convention.

Tamara Wallace spoke for the sick and housebound. She reflected on the symbolism of the hollow square and noted that we hold the sick and housebound within its space. Mischa Skeeter offered the memorial lesson. He spoke of the loss of members of his own family and noted that the anniversary of his mother’s death coincided with his being asked to do the memorial lesson. Mischa expressed his belief that when those we love pass away, although we don’t see them, they are not gone. He observed that the memorial lesson serves as a way to help us carry on. He recited the poetry of a hymn in the indigenous Creek language and noted how it fit the meter as well as the spirit of the shape note hymn, Idumea. Mischa and Tamara Wallace then led 47b in memory of the following: Priscilla Strayer, Corey Pearson, and Susan Smith—Oregon; Meleta Hoffstadt, Franz Wassermann, and Jabbara Edwards—Washington; Buell Cobb and Brian Thompson—Alabama; Mike Hinton—Texas; Peter Amidon—Vermont; Dan Phemayotin—New Jersey; Corrone Bryant—Maine and Florida. Carrie Walker offered a prayer for those who were named during the memorial lesson.

The business meeting was reopened. A gift was presented to David Wright to thank him for his singing school presentation on Friday evening. Nancy Novotny, as Secretary, announced one hundred sixty registered singers from sixteen U.S. states, Canada, and the United Kingdom, as well as ninety-six leaders and one hundred eighty-five songs sung. Dorothy Mitchell, as Treasurer, announced that expenses had been met. The Resolutions Committee (Deidra Montgomery and Pippa Stoddard) offered thanks to all who contributed to a successful convention and resolved to meet again next year. The business meeting was closed. Announcements of upcoming singings were made.

Ruth Linehan led 62 as the closing song. Carrie Walker offered the closing prayer, and the class was dismissed.
