The 140th session of the Lookout Mountain Sacred Harp Singing Convention was held at Pine Grove Church, near Collinsville, Alabama, on the fourth Sunday and Saturday before in August. The class was called to order at 9:30 a.m. by Scot Oliver leading 82t. Daniel Lee offered the opening prayer.

Shane Wootten spoke of singing friends that kept the traditions of the Sacred Harp alive at Pine Grove and other places. He mentioned the composers, who were inspired to write the songs we love to sing, and the many supporters, who contributed to the success of singings and conventions. Shane and Judy led 340. Shane concluded the memorial service with prayer.
