The 36th annual Illinois State Sacred Harp Convention met on Saturday before the third Sunday in September. Ryan Hill called the class to order leading 59.

Pastor Scott Marsh offered the opening prayer.

Ryan Hill brought the class back together leading 338. Terry Hogue read the following list of names of the sick and shut-ins, and led the class in 532: Gary Gronau, Karen Isbell, Janet Fraembs. The class received a phone update from Janet Fraembs.

Jonathon Smith shared a memory of his first memorial lesson presented by Richard DeLong in Atlanta. He read the following list of names of the deceased: Becky Browne—Missouri; Melanie Hauff and Jane Atterberry—Illinois; Marlon Wootten, Claudene Townson, Norma Green, Boyd Scott, Elder J L Hopper, Juanita Beasley, Hubert Nall, Jerry Kitchens and Doug Ivey—Alabama; Virginia Dyer, Cathy White, and Philip Denney—Georgia; Lydia Lewallen and David Wilson—North Carolina; Sue Bunch—Florida; Cheryl Foreman, Landis Powell, and Charlotte Powell—Texas. Mark Graber said a few words and led 282. Terry Hogue closed the memorial lesson with prayer.
