The 118th session of the Lookout Mountain Sacred Harp Convention was held on the fourth Sunday and Saturday before in August. The class was called to order by Scot Oliver leading 82t. Dennis George offered the opening prayer.

Shane Wootten made a special presentation to Paula Oliver and Scot Oliver: a check in the amount of $1000.00 was presented to the Lookout Mountain Convention, to be used for the preservation and perpetuation of Sacred Harp singing in the area. The donation was made possible through the efforts of Alabama Representative Ginny Shaver, and was much appreciated.

Prisca Rice spoke of the privilege and joy brought to us who sing for those who carried this tradition before us.
