The seventy-fourth annual session of the Mississippi State Convention was held at Enon Primitive Baptist Church on the fourth Sunday and Saturday before in August. President Mark Davis called the class to order, welcomed everyone, and led song on page 37b. Pastor Charles Porter welcomed the class and offered the morning prayer.

A business session was held to hear reports from the various committees.

The Business and Credentials Committee, George Easley and Hugh McGuire, reported that several counties and states were represented with delegates and visitors. We find a quorum present and collected $165.00.

The Memorial Committee, Ester Mann and Wilma Mitchell, led song on page 119 in memory of Ms. Katherine Wilson Walls, and song on page 235 in honor of Ms. Katie Wilson.

The Resolutions Committee, Andy Davis, submitted the following report. We resolve to thank:

  • Our Creator for the opportunity to praise Him in song;
  • Elder Charles Porter and all the members of Enon Primitive Baptist Church for the invitation, work, and use of their fine facilities;
  • All the singers and members of the community for a delicious dinner both days;
  • The President and all officers for their labors to make the convention a success, and for their willingness to serve another year;
  • Everyone who came to listen and sing both days;
  • Everyone who worked, including members of all committees.

All reports were approved.
