The 1st Central Florida All-Day Sacred Harp Singing was held at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church in Orlando, Florida, on Saturday before the second Sunday in January. Rachel Speer called the class together by leading 59. David Ivey taught a brief singing school in which he recounted his experiences singing in Central Florida in the 1960s, and reviewed the names of shape notes, the major and minor scales, modes of time, beating time, and accent.
