The annual Decoration Day Sacred Harp singing was held at Old Flatwoods Primitive Baptist Church on the second Sunday in May, beginning at 10:00 a.m. The class was called to order by Ashley Keeton and Pamela Gilmore leading 77t, 73t and 72b. The morning prayer was offered by Andrew Farris. Ashley Keeton and Pamela Gilmore led 129.

The class organized by electing or appointing the following officers to serve: Chairperson—Pamela Gilmore; Vice Chairman—Andrew Farris; Arranging Committee—Arthur Gilmore; Secretary—Jimmie Gilmore.

RECESS

Arthur Gilmore brought the class back to order leading 30t and 30b. Leaders: Andrew Farris 186, 178, 163b; Elizabeth Keeton 50b, 34b; Josie Hyde 200, 224; Seth Holloway 145b, 388, 274t.

The memorial lesson was conducted by Jimmie Gilmore. The following deceased were remembered: Florence Farris, Flarce Creel, Dwain Dreber, Roy McGough, John Hyde, and Cecil Wakefield—Alabama; Jeanie Dickerson, Mryle Jordan, and Myrtle Browning—Arkansas; Mary Ballinger—Texas.

The following sick and shut-ins were honored: Elder W.G. McGough, Mamie Noles, Beau Caldwell, and Bruce Rye. Jimmie Gilmore, Pamela Gilmore, and Glenda Wright led 45t and 192. The memorial was closed with prayer.

Leaders: Travis Keeton 392. Gary Smith offered prayer for the noon meal.

The afternoon session began with Andrew Farris leading 49b and 147t.
