The annual Denney Memorial Sacred Harp singing was held at Emmaus Primitive Baptist Church in Carrollton, Georgia, on Saturday before the first Sunday in November. Kacey Cook acted as chair in lieu of Wyatt Denney’s tardiness. Kacey welcomed the singers, announced restroom locations, and the availability of 2025 Edition books for purchase or loan.
Kacey Cook and Karis Booth called the class to order by leading 448t. Lee Denney offered the opening prayer. The memorial lesson was conducted by Karen Rollins and Denney Rogers. Karen read the following names of the sick and shut-ins: Joyce Walton, Karleen Williams, Sherry Lovvorn, Ed Thacker, Margaret Thacker, Don Bowen, Nate Green, Wanda Capps, Betty Shepherd, Teresa Parker, and Walter Purcell. She then read the following names of the deceased: Buell Cobb, Mike Hinton, Lucy Hiedorn, Grady Burgess, Lincoln Kenneth Ward, Michael Musick, and Deb Morton. Karen and Denney led 45t and closed the memorial service.
