The 3rd annual Cocoa Beach All-Day Sacred Harp Singing was held at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Cocoa Beach, Florida, on Saturday before the third Sunday in August. Dean Jens taught a singing school covering the basic rudiments to both honor the tradition and welcome new singers, leading 49t, 131t, 45t, and 429 to illustrate elements of singing, beating time, and how a class follows the leader.

RECESS

Rachel Speer conducted a brief memorial lesson, speaking of taking the chance to remember singers and loved ones and to share grief and sing together. She led 430 for the sick and shut-ins Don Bowen and Beverly Dayton. Rachel led 285t in memory of the deceased Dave Bennett, Buell Cobb, George Gambrell, Bob Wills, Roy Norman, Linda Battle, Jim McNaney, Young-hi Futch, and Mike Hinton.
