President Oscar McGuire called the 103rd session of the South Georgia Sacred Harp Singing Convention to order by leading 59. Wayne Watson offered the opening prayer.

The class entered into a business session in which the following officers were elected to serve: President—Oscar McGuire; Vice President—Bill DuPre; Secretaries—Jesse P. Karlsberg and Lauren Bock; Treasurer—Helen Bryson; Chaplain—Phillip Ford. Helen Bryson presented the treasurer’s report for 2021-22, which the class approved. The class reviewed and confirmed the list of singings for 2023. A motion was made and adopted to move the South Georgia Sacred Harp Singing Convention to Saturday before the first Sunday in October and the Andrew’s Chapel Singing to Saturday before the third Sunday in October beginning in 2023. The President invited petitions up to thirty days after the convention to host next year’s session. The business session was closed. Phillip Ford offered the blessing over the noon meal.

Oscar McGuire conducted the memorial lesson, leading 348b for the following deceased and sick and shut-ins. The deceased remembered were Tom Hanson—Georgia; Coy Ivey—Alabama; Ted Mercer—Illinois; Sue Bunch—Florida. The sick and shut-ins recognized were Philip Denney, Virginia Dyer, Sharon Hamrick, the Hollingsworth family, and Leesa Hamrick Rickman. Phillip Ford concluded the memorial lesson with prayer.
