The annual Cape Meares All-Day Singing was held on the first Saturday after Labor Day. Betsy Jeronen led 448b, and welcomed the class. Karen Willard offered the morning prayer. A business meeting was held, and the following officers were appointed: Chairwoman—Betsy Jeronen, Treasurer—Gin McCollum, Secretaries—Chris Noren and Laura McMurray. Karen Willard spoke lovingly of Ted Mercer, recalling Ted’s rubber stamped book annotations, and the time he referred to Karen as “She Who Must Be Heard.” Karen led 464 in memory of Ted and Jeff and Shelbie Sheppard.

Committee reports were heard. The Secretary, Chris Noren, reported fifty registered singers from six US states and one Canadian province, and thirty-nine leaders led eighty-one songs. The Treasurer reported that all expenses had been met. Resolutions Committee, Ana Tighe and Kim Lusk, thanked Marie Brandis for arranging as well as the officers, committee members, and all who contributed to the success of this singing, and resolved that the Cape Meares Singing will next convene on the first Saturday after Labor Day, 2023. Betsy Jeronen led 36b as the closing song, and Karen Willard dismissed the class with prayer.
