Minutes of Sacred Harp Singings

The 7th annual Palo Alto All-Day Singing was held at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Palo Alto, Palo Alto, California, on Saturday before the fourth Sunday in August. The class was called to order by Terry Moore leading 59. Phil Jensen offered the opening prayer.

A business meeting was held and the following officers were elected or appointed to serve: Chairman—Jeannette Ralston; Vice Chairman—Mark Godfrey; Secretary—Sue Lindner; Arranging Officer—Dan Harper; Treasurer—Gerardo Flores; Chaplain—Phil Jensen. The business meeting was concluded, and Jeannette Ralston led 154.

A business meeting was held. The Treasurer reported that expenses were met. The Secretary and Arranging Officer reported that at least forty-eight singers attended (from California, Massachusetts, and New York), and eighty-seven songs were led by forty-one leaders. The Resolutions Committee (Peter Ross and Jeff Begley) offered thanks to all who made the singing possible, and resolved to convene again next year. Announcements were made.

Jeannette Ralston and Mark Godfrey led 347 as the closing song. Phil Jensen offered the closing prayer.
