The annual Sacred Harp singing held on Saturday before the fourth Sunday in June at Shady Grove Primitive Baptist Church, Double Springs, Alabama, was called to order by Don Keeton leading 32t. The morning prayer was offered by Don Keeton.

The class organized with the following officers elected or appointed to serve: Chairman—Don Keeton; Vice Chairman—Kermit Adams; Secretary—Roma Rice; Arranging Officer—Margaret Keeton.

The memorial lesson was conducted by Roma Rice and Daniel Bearden. Roma Rice read the following list of names of the sick and shut-ins: Angie Johnson, Odie Horton, Josie Hyde, Dawson Adams, Edith Adams, Johnnie Chafin, Ozella Blackmon, Charlotte Gober, and Jessie Lee Adams.

She then read the following list of names of the deceased: Myrtle Ann Beasley, Leona Haynes, Gladys Williams, Pernie Pelfrey, Lester Reed, Bud Oliver, and Clayton Ezell. Daniel Bearden led 417.
