The tenth annual Columbia Singing was held at the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Columbia, Missouri on Saturday before the third Sunday in October. Lou Kujawinski called the class to order leading 34 (t? b?), followed by prayer.

The class was organized with the election or appointment of the following officers: Chairman—Lou Kujawinski; Secretary—Cindy Stone; Arranging Committee—Penny Kujawinski and Mary Barile; Treasurer—Cindy Pepmiller; Chaplains—Cherry Hinderberger and Kathy Schubert; Hospitality Committee—Carla Pepmiller and Catharine Pepmiller.

Karen Isbell spoke on the progress of printing the Missouri Harmony in hard back for the first time since the mid 1850’s. She thanked Dan Brittain and Emily Gruber for work on resetting some of the songs and also acknowledged the help of Presley Barker, Ann Leckie, Dave Ressler, and Paul Figura. The book will contain old and new songs, and will be published soon.

  • Everyone who attended, especially those who traveled from Alabama, Arkansas, Kansas, Nebraska, Wisconsin, and from various parts of Missouri;
  • Reverend Massey for use of the church;
  • Those who prepared the food;
  • Gary Gronau, Wendy Hofmann, and Jon Pearson for sharing in the pitching of songs.

Announcements were made. Lou Kujawinski led 347 as the closing song, and those who wished took the parting hand. Kathy Schubert offered the closing prayer, and the class was dismissed.
