The eighty-sixth session of the annual Lamar and Pickens County Convention was held at Zion Church on the second Sunday in July. Chairman Clarence McCool called the class to order leading 61. John Merritt offered the morning prayer. Chairman Clarence McCool asked that this be an all day memorial for all our friends and loved ones who have passed away.
The names of the deceased remembered were: Lavaughn Ballinger, Donald Smith, Lamar Smith, and Lucille Burkes.
The sick and shut-ins remembered were: A.A. Malone and Etna Barton.
The class organized with the following officers elected or appointed to serve: Chairman—Clarence McCool; Vice Chairman—Toney Smith; Secretary—Josie Hyde; Arranging Committee—Wayne Baines.
