The annual all day Sacred Harp singing at Poplar Springs Baptist Church was held on the fourth Sunday in May. The class was called to order by Miranel Swafford leading songs on pages 32t and 155. The morning prayer was offered by Billy Joe Harris. Charlene Wallace led songs on pages 59 and 229; George Garner led songs on pages 480 and 222.

The class organized by electing or appointing the following officers: Chairman—B.M. Smith; Vice Chairman—George Garner; Secretary—Charlene Wallace; Arranging Committee—Margie Smith; Memorial Committee—Mary Florence Smith.

Mary Florence Smith conducted the memorial lesson and led songs on pages 143 and 348b for the deceased: Ivan “Bud” Dingler, Cecil Edwards, Ruby Phillips, Eloise Watkins, Arthur Phillips, Austin Phillips, Woodie Walker, Grady Price, Robert Todd, Susan Garber, Karen House, Aleen Minton, Bertha Pope, Albert Pope, and Mary K. Friday.

Mary Florence Smith led song on page 122 for the sick and shut-ins. Those remembered were Mozelle Sheppard, Vivian Rogers, and I.V. McWhorter.

Rev. Mike Benefield closed the memorial with prayer and included the blessing on the food.
