The annual Sacred Harp singing at Cane Creek Primitive Baptist Church on the third Sunday in May was called to order by B.M. Smith leading song on page 59. Felton Denney offered the opening prayer. B.M. Smith led song on page 82t; Jeff Sheppard 75, 87; and Margie Smith 32t and 101t.

The class organized with the following officers elected or appointed to serve: Chairman—B.M. Smith; Vice Chairman—Jeff Sheppard; Arranging Committee—Margie Smith; Secretary—Hester Edwards; Memorial Committee—Ruth Brown.

Ruth Brown conducted the memorial lesson with comments about making a joyful noise, and what Sacred Harp singers and friends mean to each other.

Alice Edwards, Hester Edwards, Alonzo Edwards, Louise Owen, Alma Owen, Harvey Austin, and Jeff Sheppard led songs on pages 430 and 491 for Cecil Edwards, Ted Edwards, Ruby Smith, Nell Williams, Billy Ross Edwards, Nannie Sue Green, Lee Green, Fratus Owen, Bobbie Jean Morrow, Kevin Morrow, and Bercha Thompson. Felton Denney led song on page 285t for Leamon Norton, Franklin Snider, Bessie Mitchum, Opal Deese, Howard Murray, Camille Randle, Grady Price, and Eloise Watkins.

Sylvia Holland led songs on pages 348b and 111t for the sick and shut-ins. Those remembered were: Kathleen Butler Powers, Mozelle Sheppard, Jap Walton, Joyce Walton, Gladys McGraw, Gary McGraw, Revy Williamson, Oakie Austin, and Jennie Cofield who is 100 years old. The memorial was closed with prayer.

Charles Wayne Norton gave a report on the cemetery.
