The eighty-sixth session of the Walker County Sacred Harp Convention met on Saturday before the third Sunday in July at Zion Rest Primitive Baptist Church, and was called to order by Glenn Keeton leading songs on pages 32t and 59. Richard Mauldin offered the morning prayer. Glenn Keeton led song on page 64.

The class organized for the day with the following officers elected or appointed to serve: Chairman—Travis Keeton; Vice Chairman—Velton Chafin; Secretary—Willodean Barton; Arranging Committee—Glenn Keeton; Memorial Committee—Richard Mauldin and Brenda Merritt.

The memorial lesson was held with Richard Mauldin giving a talk. Richard Mauldin and Brenda Merritt led songs on pages 499 and 235 for the deceased: Elbert Freeman, Virgil Phillips, Rosa Hughes, Karen House, Patsy Merritt, Horace Batchelor, and Audie Black.

Richard Mauldin and Brenda Merritt led song on page 235 for the sick and shut-ins: John Hocutt, Tommye Denson Mauldin, Gene Wakefield, Marie Aldridge, Elsie Beasley, Doris Vickery, Elmer Conwill, Mae Conwill, and Tressie Adkins. Richard Mauldin closed the memorial with prayer.
