The 135th session of the Cotaco Convention was held on Saturday before the fourth Sunday in July at Gum Pond Primitive Baptist Church, Eva, Alabama. The class was called to order at 10:00 a.m. by Nicholas Thompson leading 56t. Tom Booth offered the opening prayer.

The memorial lesson was held at this time. Judy Caudle spoke briefly about the importance of the memorial lesson. She read the following list of names of the sick and shut-ins: Betty Shepherd, Chris Shepherd, David Light, Margaret Keeton, Ed Thacker, Margaret Thacker, Betty Baccus, Darlene Reynolds, David Jackson, Darvi Jackson, Mike Hinton, Darrell Parker, and Ernestine Parker. She then read the list of names of the deceased: Jerry Kitchens, Earl Ballinger, Ozella Blackmon, Henry Guthery, Richard Mauldin, Chita Blakeley, Geraldine Sharpton, Carol Fannin, Elder David Guttrey, Gaston White, and Elvin White—Alabama; Esther Mann—Mississippi; P. Dan Brittain—Arkansas; Chloe Webb—Texas; Becky Browne—Missouri. Judy Caudle and Nicholas Thompson led 459 and 564. Nicholas Thompson concluded the memorial service with prayer.
