The annual Providence Sacred Harp Singing was held on Saturday before the third Sunday in May at Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church at Providence. The class was called to order at 10:30 a.m. by Christopher Mann leading 52t. The opening prayer was offered by Butch White.

The class was organized by electing or appointing the following officers and committee members: Chairman—Christopher Mann; Vice Chairman—Tom Booth; Secretary and Arranging—Amber Mann.

RECESS

Christopher Mann led 47b to bring the class together. Leaders: Marlin Beasley 47t, 490; Hazel Heinze 569b, 438; Garrett Sipe 32t, 63; Buell Cobb 308, 325. Christopher Mann asked the blessing before the noon meal.

LUNCH

The afternoon session began with Christopher Mann leading 44. Leaders: Nancy Phillips 282, 208; Delone Cobbs and Wyatt Parton 106, 231; Susan Allred 65, 385b (in memory of Carol Fannin); Anna Grace Sipe 56b, 178; Sarah Whites-Koditschek 34b, 38b; Amber Mann 274t, 354b. Christopher Mann led 225t (in memory of Kenneth and Carol Fannin) and 40 (requested by the Parton family). Announcements were made.

Christopher Mann led 347 as the closing song. Marlin Beasley dismissed the class with prayer.
