The annual Sacred Harp singing held at New Hope Church on the fourth Sunday in June was called to order at 10:00 a.m. by Anna Grace Sipe leading 31t. Butch White offered the opening prayer. Leaders: Christopher Mann 101t, 569b; Anna Grace Sipe 47t, 77t; Londa Pate 45t, 312b; Theresa Westmoreland 313b, 313t; Sonja Sipe 68b, 63; Nancy Thompson 345t, 345b; Delone Cobbs 44, 354t; Butch White 32b, 74b; Jim Pate 72b, 49t; Cindy Mann 145b, 147t.

In a business session the following officers were elected: Chairman—Christopher Mann; Vice Chairman—Anna Grace Sipe; Secretary—Londa Pate; Arranging Committee—Theresa Westmoreland.

RECESS

The class was called back together by Christopher Mann leading 48t. Leaders: Buell Cobb 27, 42; Rebecca Over 395, 331; Hazel Heinze 145t, 523; Geraldine Sharpton 229, 496; Winfred Kerr 59, 225t; Nancy Lee 335, 358; Amber Mann 128. Ruben Williams gave a report on the status of the cemetery and recent survey and thanked all the singers for coming. An offering was taken for the cost of the minute books. Christopher Mann led 73t. Butch White returned thanks before the noon meal.

Announcements were made. Christopher asked that 2019 start time be published as 10:00 a.m. since singers do not arrive at the earlier 9:30 a.m. time. Christopher Mann led 282 as the closing song. Butch White offered the closing prayer, and the class was dismissed.
