The annual DeLong-Roberts Memorial Singing was called to order by Jessica Altman leading 47t and 101t. Elder Jesse Roberts offered the morning prayer.

RECESS

Richard DeLong brought the class to order leading 74t and 270. Leaders: Dianne O’Shields 496, 497 (in memory of her father, Reuben Ball); Oscar McGuire 441, 336.

A business session was held. After much discussion, the following officers were elected to serve: Chairman—Richard DeLong; Vice Chairman—Jessica Altman; Secretary/Treasurer—Helen Bryson; Arranging Officer—John Plunkett. Big Creek Primitive Baptist Church has graciously agreed to host this singing in 2019.

LUNCH

Richard DeLong called the class back to order leading 36t. Leaders: Daniel Williams 404, 442; Don Bowen 549, 39b; Lisa Bennett 475, 318; Virgel (Cricket) Campbell 146 (in memory of her father, Matthew Long), 144.

The memorial lesson was conducted by Ashley Thompson, who shared memories of those singers who have gone on before and left us with the Sacred Harp legacy. She led 501 in memory of the following deceased: Daphene Causey—Alabama; Louise Holland, Melba Castleberry, and Elder Edward Cagle—Georgia. Rebecca Carlisle led 503 for the following sick and shut-ins: Leon Carnell and Matt DeLong. Elder Jesse Roberts shared memories of the Roberts family and led 480. Richard DeLong shared memories of the DeLong family and spoke of being thankful for friends. Richard led 541. The memorial lesson was closed with prayer offered by Elder Jesse Roberts.
