The 9th session of the Newton County Singing was held at Shoal Creek Primitive Baptist Church, southeast of Covington, Georgia, on Saturday before the third Sunday in May. Charles Woods called the class together by leading 49t. Elder Hermon Wilkinson welcomed everyone to Shoal Creek Church, the last active Primitive Baptist congregation in Newton County, and offered the morning prayer. Elder Wilkinson led 39t.

The following officers were re-elected to serve: Co-Chairmen—Hermon Wilkinson and Charles Woods; Vice Chairman—Mike Spencer; Secretary—Arlene Woods.
