The 28th annual Kentucky State Sacred Harp Singing was convened at 9:03 a.m. with words of welcome from Keith MacAdam. The Sacred Harp, 1991 Edition, and Southern Harmony were used through the day. The morning lesson was led by Keith MacAdam calling 155.

The following officers were elected or appointed to serve: Chairman—Charles H. Coulston; Secretary—Mary Brinkman.

The following songs were led as follows: 47b in memory of Hanokh Sohil (India) and Charles Jacob, who were killed in an accident the day before the Kentucky Singing near Lexington, Kentucky; 146 in memory of Jim Taylor—North Carolina; 448t in memory of Martha Meek—Kentucky, John Etheridge—Florida, Bill Reynolds—Tennessee, and in honor of John Plunkett—Georgia; 49t in memory of Alton Parsons, Sr.—Kentucky; 278 (SoH) in memory of Joe L. Dunn—Kentucky; 95 in memory of Fred Hill—Indiana. The lunch blessing was offered by Jim Thobaben.


The afternoon session was brought to order by Ron Pen.
