The 4th annual Thomas Futral (now named Thomas and Opal Futral) Memorial Singing was held on Saturday before the third Sunday in April at Smyrna Primitive Baptist Church in Goodwater, Alabama. Jack Nelson called the class together leading 480 and 30b.

The following officers were elected or appointed to serve: Chairman—Jack Nelson; Vice Chairman—William Futral; Secretary—Virginia Futral. Today’s singing is dedicated to Eugene Forbes, who is absent due to illness.

The memorial lesson was conducted by Jack Nelson leading 499. The following deceased were remembered: Opal Futral, Brenda Dean, Hazel Nelson, M.B. Forbes, Corene Laminack, LaRue Allen, and B.J. Harris—Alabama; Gladys McGraw and Amanda Denson Brady—Georgia.

The following sick and shut-ins were honored: Eugene Forbes, Lora Kelly, Howard McGuire, Audress Gurley, and Vernelle Amason.
