The annual Decoration Day Sacred Harp singing at Cane Creek Primitive Baptist Church was called to order at 9:30 a.m. by Stanley Edwards leading 59. The opening prayer was offered by Cecil Roberts.

A business session was held with the following officers elected or appointed to serve: Chairman—Stanley Edwards; Vice Chairman—Cecil Roberts; Arranging Committee—Donna Bell; Secretary—Hester Edwards.

RECESS

The class was called to order by Cecil Roberts leading 489 (for Felton Denney and Josephine Denney). Leaders: Lou Cotney 222, 384; Allen Jones 127, 294; Ann Simpson 445, 323b; Judy Green 147t, 45t; Neal Prichard 566, 204; Carlene Griffin 81t, 448b (for Charlene Wallace).

The memorial lesson was conducted by Glenda Collins. Hester Edwards, Louise Owen, and James Edwards led 68b in memory of Buck Owen, Alma Owen, Evelyn Perry, and Nannie Mae Coleman Roberts. Donna Bell led 568 in memory of Bobby Jackson and Julian Murphy. Judy Green and Allen Jones led 159 in memory of Grace Jones Barnett and Pauline Jones Borden.

Jeff Sheppard and Howard McGuire led 318 and 192 for the following sick and shut-ins: Gary Gray, Irvin Roberts, Charlene Wallace, Mary Florence Smith, Matt Owen, Josephine Denney, Felton Denney, Jimmy Denney, and Myrtle Smith. The memorial was closed with prayer offered by Elder Lewis Norton.

Charles Norton gave the cemetery report.

LUNCH
