The Winston County Sacred Harp Singing Convention was held at the Shady Grove Primitive Baptist Church in Double Springs, Alabama on the fourth Sunday in September.
The class was called to order by Kermit Adams who welcomed everyone and led song on page 59. Harrison Creel offered the morning prayer.
The class organized for the day with the following officers elected or appointed to serve: Chairman—Dawson Adams; Vice Chairman—Travis Keeton; Arranging Committee—Josie Hyde; Secretary—Lena Keeton.

LUNCH
The class resumed singing with Travis Keeton leading songs on pages 42 (in memory of Arnold Moore who passed away this week) and 57.

Albert White sang solo “Fifty Miles of Elbow Room”, and a patriotic song written by Elton Britt, “There’s a Star Spangled Banner Waving Somewhere” which was very appropriate at this time in our lives.
Dawson Adams and Travis Keeton asked for the announcements, and then led song on page 129 for the closing song. The class was dismissed with prayer led by Harrison Creel.
After the singing, several members of the class went to the Hendrix Health Care Facility to sing a few songs for Rose Altha Taylor, Milford Watts, and Bernice Watts who are residents there.
