Minutes of Sacred Harp Singings

The Capital City Shape Note Singing was held on the third Thursday in July at Old Alabama Town, Montgomery, Alabama. Stefani Priskos called the class to order by leading 131b. She offered a warm welcome to the class and listeners on behalf of the Alabama Center for Traditional Culture and the Alabama Folklife Association. Tom George offered the opening prayer.

Song selections were made from four books: The Sacred Harp, 1991 edition, The B.F. White Sacred Harp, Cooper Revision, The Christian Harmony, 2010 edition, and The Colored Sacred Harp.
