The singing at the annual meeting of the Society for American Music, held this year in Minneapolis, Minnesota, was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Kevin Kehrberg leading 73b. Kay Norton, a member of the Society, offered the opening prayer. Song selections were from The Sacred Harp, 1991 Edition unless otherwise indicated.

Leaders: Jesse P. Karlsberg 82t; Esther Morgan-Ellis 448t; Erin Fulton 467; Eleanor Haase 155; Steven T. Schmidgall 369; Rachel Hall 299; Midge Olsen 454; Gordon Olsen 277; Bryant Kumlin 434; Shana Wenger 455; Karen Clark 234; Kat Kohorst 384; Steve Luttinen 440. Rachel Hall led 137 (CB), and noted its alto part by Miss Minnie Floyd, related to a paper she presented at the conference. Darlene Dalton led 503.

RECESS

The Society for American Music Singing occurs in conjunction with the Society’s annual meeting, the date and location of which vary each year. The 2024 singing will convene in Detroit, Michigan.
