The annual Sacred Harp singing held at New Hope Church on the fourth Sunday in June was called to order at 10:30 a.m. by Christopher Mann leading 49t, and offering the opening prayer. Leaders: Christopher Mann 31t, 30b; Tom Booth 565, 235; Buell Cobb 72b, 127; Linda Booth 30t, 32t; Cindy Mann 77t, 503; Geraldine Sharpton 148, 31b, 84, 361, 428.

RECESS

The class was called back together by Christopher Mann leading 101t. Leaders: Christopher Mann and Amber Mann 63, 128. Ruben Williams gave an update on the status of the cemetery and recent improvements on the building, reminisced about the singing school that was held there a decade ago, and thanked all the singers for coming. Leaders: Christopher Mann 47b (for Butch White who was out sick), 49b (in memory of Rebecca Over), 45t (memorial). Tom Booth offered thanks before lunch.

LUNCH

The afternoon session began with Christopher Mann leading 61. Leaders: Nancy Lee 358, 335; Christopher Mann 59 (requested by Londa Pate); Tom Booth 204, 354t; Buell Cobb 27, 37b; Essie Hollingsworth 159; Essie Hollingsworth and Geraldine Sharpton 87; Linda Booth 139, 138t, 274t; Cindy Mann and Christopher Mann 38b; Christopher Mann 535 (requested for Butch White), 499 (requested for Henry Guthery), then 46 as the closing song. Christopher Mann offered the closing prayer, and the class was dismissed.
