The 106th session of the Walker County Sacred Harp Singing Convention was held on Saturday before the third Sunday in July. The convention was cancelled in 2020. The class was called to order by Glenn Keeton leading 36b. Butch White offered the opening prayer.

The class was organized by electing or appointing the following officers to serve: Chairman—Glenn Keeton; Vice Chairman—Brenda Chafin; Secretary and Arranging—Nicholas Thompson.

RECESS

RECESS

Glenn Keeton led 178. Beth Branscome conducted the memorial lesson. She spoke and led 201 in honor of the following sick and shut-ins: Lisa Geist, Larry Ballinger, Chris Ballinger, Betty Baccus, David Jackson, Darrell Parker, Ernestine Parker, Bea Aaron, Joe Gilmore, Leslie Gilmore, Jerry Kitchens, and Geraldine Sharpton.

Beth spoke and led 285t in memory of the following deceased: Velton Chafin, Otis Sides, Bill Windom, Coy Ivey, Mary Ruth Stiefel, Kathleen Robbins, and Eugene Forbes—Alabama; Stephen O’Leary and David Fetcho—California. Tom Booth closed the memorial service with prayer.

In a brief business meeting, a motion was made to move the convention to Jasper, Alabama, at the First Presbyterian Church. The class voted in favor of the move, and thanked Boldo Methodist Church for many years of hospitality. The business session was closed.

LUNCH

The afternoon session began with Glenn Keeton leading 277. Announcements were made.

Glenn Keeton led 267 as the closing song. Tom Booth dismissed the class with prayer.
