The annual Sacred Harp singing held on Saturday before the fourth Sunday in June at Shady Grove Primitive Baptist Church, Double Springs, Alabama, was called to order by Don Keeton leading 46. The morning prayer was offered by Don Keeton.
The class was organized with the following officers elected or appointed to serve: Chairman—Don Keeton; Vice Chairman—Jerry Kitchens; Arranging Officer—Margaret Keeton; Secretary—Roma Rice. Don Keeton presented a proposal to make this singing a memorial to Kermit and Steve Adams.
The consensus was that it would be a nice tribute to them, therefore this singing will be renamed The Kermit and Steve Adams Memorial.

A memorial was held for members of the Godsey and Adams families that have passed away this past year. Roma Rice read a list of the following names: Morris Edward Godsey, Sandra Spradlin, Azalee Adams, Willis Adams, Steve Adams, and Kermit Adams. Richard Mauldin led 99. The memorial service was closed with prayer offered by Butch White.
