The annual Decoration Day Sacred Harp singing was held at Cane Creek Primitive Baptist Church on the third Sunday in May. The class was called to order at 9:30 a.m. by B.M. Smith leading 59. Robert Chambless offered the morning prayer. B.M. Smith welcomed everyone, and then led 101t.
The following officers were elected: Chairman—B.M. Smith; Vice Chairman—Glenda Collins; Arranging Officer/Secretary—Judy Chambless.

Robert Chambless conducted the memorial lesson. He read the list of names of the following sick and shut-ins: Ed Thacker, Margaret Thacker, Nate Green, Norma Green, Susan Harcrow, Earlis McGraw, and Janelle Davis. He then read the following list of names of the deceased: Hester Edwards, Neal Prichard, Evelyn Harris, Nellie Mae White, Norma Jean Yates, Faye Turner, Sarah Nolan, Terry Lambert, George Garner, and C.W. Garner. John Plunkett led 340 for the memorial song, and Charlie Norton offered the prayer.
