The Sanders Memorial Sacred Harp Singing was held at Liberty Primitive Baptist Church, near Sumiton, Alabama, on Saturday before the second Sunday in February. The class was called to order by Velton Chafin leading 48t. Marlin Beasley offered the opening prayer.

The class was organized and the following officers were elected or appointed to serve: Chairman—Velton Chafin; Vice Chairman—Danny Creel; Secretary—Brenda Chafin.

Richard Mauldin conducted the memorial lesson. He spoke in loving memory of the following deceased: Lonnie Rogers, Julietta Haynes, Earnie Jett, Harrison Creel, Charles Creel, Myrtle Ann Beasley, Leona Haynes, Travis Keeton, Charlotte Keeton Gober, and Bill Tanner. He led 339.

Richard spoke of the following sick and shut-ins, and asked for prayers on their behalf: Henry Guthery, Bud Oliver, Sammie Oliver, Josie Hyde, Juanita Beasley, Margaret Keeton, S.T. Reed, Lessie Reed, Stella Pratt, Johnie Chafin, Cora Beasley Sweatt, Nadine Willis, and Kermit Adams. He led 285t. Marlin Beasley closed the memorial service with prayer.


The afternoon session began with Velton Chafin leading 68b.
