A special singing of the South Georgia Sacred Harp Singing Convention was held in conjunction with the traveling Smithsonian Exhibit. The class was called to order by Oscar McGuire leading 49t and 59. The opening prayer was offered by John Plunkett.

The following officers for the day were duly elected by the class: Chairman—Oscar McGuire; Vice Chairman—Bentley McGuire; Secretary—Rita Haley; Arranging Officer—Mary Brownlee.
