Minutes of Sacred Harp Singings

The 33rd annual Seed and Feed Sacred Harp Singing was held on Saturday before the fourth Sunday in October at Emory Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, Georgia. The class was called to order by Tony Hammock leading 59. John Plunkett offered the opening prayer.

A business session was held and the following officers were elected: Chairman—Phillip Langley; Vice Chairman—Andy Anderson; Secretary—Laura Akerman.

RECESS

The class was called back to order by Malinda Snow leading 269 and 472. Leaders: Bob Goodman 497, 475; Nancy Yeager 566, 510; George Burnette 101t, 81t; Emily Moore and Ruth Reveal 111t, 86; Michael Walker 92, 374.

Helen Bryson conducted the memorial lesson, leading 418 in memory of the following deceased: Elder Gerald Hand, Reba Norton, Jimmie Denney, Wanda Talley, Emil Ibele, and Nora Roberts. She led 313b for the following sick and shut-ins: Mary Lambert-Smith, Teenie Moody, Lonnie Rogers, Bob DePoy, and Violet Thomason. John Plunkett closed the memorial lesson with prayer.

Elise Sparks and two friends led 268 and 551.

David Yeager called the class back together by leading 147t and 240.
