The eleventh annual Los Angeles Regional Sacred Harp Singing met on Saturday before the third Sunday in May at Angels Gate Cultural Center in San Pedro, California. Duncan MacLeod called the class to order at 10:00 a.m. leading 59. Steve Lazicki, pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Pasadena, California, led the opening prayer.

A business meeting was held with the following officers elected or appointed to serve: Chairman—Beth Webb; Vice Chairman—Laura Boyd Russell; Secretary—Larry Arnstein; Treasurer—Duncan MacLeod; Resolutions Committee—Betty Herman and Carroll Lunsford; Memorial Committee—Susan Turpin.

Susan Turpin conducted the memorial lesson and led 459 for the following deceased: Lavaughn Ballinger—Alabama; Floyd L. O’Banion—Washington; Howard Warren—Indiana; Diane Jones—California; Melinda Kennedy—Massachusetts.

Susan Turpin related that her brother’s wife had died at the age of 47 (t? b?), leaving behind an 8 year-old son, and led 83t for those who are grieving. She led 58 for the sick and shut-ins: Micky Woodbridge—Connecticut; Marilyn Murata—California. Steve Lazicki closed the memorial with prayer.

Treasurer Duncan MacLeod reported that contributions met and exceeded expenses.

Secretary Larry Arnstein reported that 64 songs were called, and that the singers sang like angels.

Beth Webb thanked Ron Huss and Karen Huss, who were in charge of food, and all those who were on the various committees for a wonderful job. The business meeting was closed.

Beth Webb led 276 as the closing song. Steve Lazicki offered the closing prayer, and the class was dismissed.
