The eighteenth session of the Independence Day Singing met at Muscadine Methodist Church on Wednesday, July 4, 2001. In the absence of Chairman Jeff Sheppard, the class was called to order by B.M. Smith, acting Chairman, leading song on page 36b. Felton Denney offered the morning prayer.

A business session was held and the class voted to retain the following officers: Chairman—Jeff Sheppard; Vice Chairman—B.M. Smith; Secretary—Mary Florence Smith; Arranging Committee—Margie Smith. B.M. Smith will act as Chairman for Jeff Sheppard who is in the hospital awaiting heart surgery.
