Amy Wells called the class to order leading 34b. Jeannette DePoy offered the opening prayer. Amy welcomed the class to the first of two outdoor afternoon singings scheduled for this autumn at Woodlands Pavilion, which has screened walls for improved air flow. Covid vaccination was required, and masks were optional. Because of the holiday, some singers wore Sacred Harp-related costumes.

Amy Wells called the class back to order leading 105. Andy Ditzler gave an introductory lesson in the tradition of the Union Musical Sacred Harp Singing Convention, which was cancelled for this year: a song in each mode of time, followed by an anthem. This introductory lesson was led in memory of Rebecca Over, who was the Chairman of the Convention when she passed away in August of this year. Andy Ditzler led 549, 283, 480, 77b, 381, 74t, 131b, and 507.
