The 20th annual Middle Georgia Sacred Harp Singing was held on Saturday before the third Sunday in April. Bill DuPre welcomed the class and led 34b. John Plunkett offered the morning prayer.

RECESS

Bill DuPre called the class to order leading 378t. Leaders: Samuel Williams 377, 321; Oscar McGuire 420 (in memory of Bentley McGuire), [171-1991-1991]; Sandra Wilkinson 82t, 75; Rosemund Watson 503, 229; Susan Ford 45t, 63; Russ Hanson 480, 515. A business session was held, and the class voted to retain the following officers: Chairman—Bill DuPre; Vice Chairman—Lisa Bennett; Secretary—David Smead. John Plunkett led 310, 156.

LUNCH

Bill DuPre called the class back to order leading 426t. Leaders: Lisa Bennett 105; David Smead 329. A memorial lesson was held. Lisa Bennett spoke about the sick and shut-in. She reminded us of the importance of community for physical and mental health, and called on the class to comfort the sick and shut-in with cards and phone calls. Lisa Bennett led 70t for the following sick and shut-ins: Helen Bryson, Henry Johnson, Jack Nelson, Jesse Roberts, Joyce Walton, and Kevin Eddins. Daniel Williams spoke about the deceased. He quoted Matthew 6:19-21 and compared our deceased friends to treasures. Daniel Williams led 36b in memory of the following deceased: Malik Williams, John Smead, Beverly Thompson, Pauline Oliver, and Melvin Kersey. Daniel closed the memorial lesson with prayer.
