State Line Singing

The annual State Line Church Sacred Harp singing was held at Holly Springs Primitive Baptist Church near Bremen, Georgia, on Saturday before the second Sunday in April. The class was called to order by Pam Nunn leading 186. Nicholas Thompson offered the opening prayer.

Pam Nunn gave a financial report for State Line, and then gave an update on the status of needed repairs and maintenance of the church and cemetery. The following officers were retained: Chairman—Pam Nunn; Chairman—René Greene; Secretary—Judy Caudle. Reba Windom was appointed to arrange leaders for the day.

Judy read aloud the following list of names of the deceased: Ozella Blackmon, Earl Ballinger, Henry Guthery, Julia Poston, Virginia Futral, William Futral, Myrline Redmon, Pauline Oliver—Alabama; Lucy Garner, Beverly Rollins Thompson, Bob Goodman, Jean Toole, Susan Morgan, and Hazel Carter Lingerfelt—Georgia; Susan Fetcho—California; Chloe Webb—Texas; John Smead—Missouri; Madeline Nutting—Washington; Bernard Collard—England; John Bennett—Germany; Michael Kennedy—Ireland. She led 354b. Nicholas Thompson closed the memorial service with prayer.
