The 6th annual Sacred Harp singing was held on the fourth Sunday in September at Popular Springs Baptist Church north of Bowdon, Carroll County, Georgia. Daniel Williams brought the class to order leading 36b. Cecil Roberts offered the morning prayer. Daniel Williams welcomed the singers and visitors before leading 457.

Samuel Williams brought the class back to order leading 30t. Daniel Williams called a short business meeting and the following officers were elected: Chairman—Daniel Williams; Vice Chairman—Samuel Williams; Secretary—Judy Chambless. Cecil Roberts asked the class to vote on combining the Cleburne County Convention singing with the Shoal Creek singing and have it at Shoal Creek Baptist Church on Labor Day. The class voted to make the change.

Daniel Williams and Chris Nicholson gave the memorial lesson remembering the following sick and shut-ins and leading 56t: Loyd Ivey, Louise Ivey, Ed Thacker, Margaret Thacker, Judy Henry, William Futral, Virginia Futral, Mona Nelson, Beverly Rollins Thompson, Barry Rollins, and Evie Eddins. The following list of names of the deceased was read aloud: Pearl Guier, Marlon Wootten, Virginia Dyer, Philip Denney, Boyd Scott, Chita Blakeley, Cheryl Foreman, Jerry Kitchens, Norma Green, Ray Nelson, Eva Striebeck, George Burnette, Ann Simpson, Lydia Lewallen, Hubert Nall, and Clay Kiebow. They led leading 285t. Oscar McGuire offered the closing prayer for the memorial lesson.
