The chairman convened a business session. Adrian voiced concern regarding the current date of the singing, citing the difficulty for his family in sustaining it given the preponderance of local singers who have already left for Christmas by this weekend. The class offered suggestions for alternative dates, including the fourth Sunday in October (to follow the Rust Memorial) and Saturday before the second Sunday in December (to precede the singing at Mt. Zion Methodist Church). The officers resolved to meet at Lynd Schoolhouse in 2021, the specific date to be determined following consultation with several faithful attendees who could not be present this year and whom we dearly miss. If readers of these minutes have any preferences, please inform us, and be sure to confirm the date before attending in the future. The class consenting to resume singing until 3:00 p.m., the business session was adjourned.
Leaders: Adrian Eldridge 277; James Eldridge and Adrian Eldridge 16 (SoH) (in honor of Katherine Eldridge and Bill Hayes); Prisca Rice 163b, 391; Erin Fulton 90 (in honor of Tim Gregg); James Eldridge 178 (in honor of Marilyn Huffman). Given the uncertainty currently surrounding so many singings, announcements were deferred till next year. James Eldridge led 347 as the class took the parting hand. Gary Huffman offered the closing prayer and, having sung 64 selections, the class of eleven singers from Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, and Missouri were dismissed.
