The 9th annual Cape Meares All-Day Singing was called to order on Saturday following Labor Day by Betsy Jeronen leading 448b. Karen Willard offered the opening prayer.

A business meeting was held, and the following officers were elected to serve: Chairman—Betsy Jeronen; Secretary—Cornelia Stanton; Treasurer—Linda Berkemeier. The chairman shared with the class that the singing would be dedicated as a memorial to Steve Helwig.
