The annual memorial Sacred Harp singing was called to order at 9:30 a.m. by Cecil Roberts leading 49b. The opening prayer was offered by Jack Nelson.

A business session was called to order. The following officers were elected: Chairman-Rene Greene; Vice Chairman-Cecil Roberts; Secretary—Pam Nunn. The class passed a motion to change the name of the singing from Cates-Brown Memorial Singing to Cates, Brown, and Sheppard Memorial Singing. In addition, Virginia Dyer was recognized for providing commemorative bottles of sorghum syrup and honey to those attending the singing. The business session was closed.
