The 34th session of the Smith Memorial Sacred Harp Singing was called to order by Ben Copenhaver leading 34t. Gaylon Powell offered the opening prayer.

Committee appointments were made as follows: Nominations Committee—Robert Vaughn and David Rousseau; Memorial Committee—Kristie Powell and Sue Harju.
