The Sacred Harp singing at Old Songs Festival in Altamont, New York, is intended as a way for new singers to experience a book singing in an abbreviated form. Many singers in the northeast have been introduced to Sacred Harp singing here. A brief introduction to the format and tradition was offered, and new singers were welcomed.
Ginny Huszagh called the class to order leading 34b. The opening prayer was offered by Mary Skidmore.
