The annual memorial singing for Mr. and Mrs. Frank Rogers was held at Ephesus Elementary School on Sunday, March 1, 2009. The singing commenced at 9:30 a.m. with Denney Rogers leading 101t. Rev. Wayne Reed offered the invocation. Stanley Edwards led 52t and Karen Rollins led 274t (in memory of Frank Rogers and Dick Mauldin).
A business session was held with the following officers elected or appointed: Chairman—Denney Rogers; Vice Chairman—Stanley Edwards; Secretary—Karen Rollins; Arranging Committee—Sherry Lovvorn and Margie Smith; Memorial Committee—Paige Harrod. Mayor Denney Rogers welcomed the singers to the city.

Paige Harrod spoke briefly to begin the memorial lesson. The children of Lonnie Rogers (Karen Rollins, Karleen Williams, Paige Harrod, Sherry Lovvorn, and Denney Rogers) led 358 and 143 in memory of the following: Jane Bruner, Ed Holloway, Nora Huddleston, Junior Rogers, and Jesse Cotney.
Charlene Wallace and Nathan Rees led 105 for the following sick and shut-ins: Beau Caldwell, Clarence McCool, Harrison Creel, Shelbie Sheppard, Tokay Shoemake, Mary Florence Smith, and Mr. and Mrs. George Garner. Prayer was offered by Louis Hughes.
LUNCH
The singing ended after lunch because of the increasing amount of snowfall.
