The 2nd annual Swannanoa Gathering Shape Note Singing was held at Warren Wilson College in Swannanoa, North Carolina. Books used were The Christian Harmony, Carolina Edition; The Sacred Harp, 1991 Edition; Southern Harmony. Jane Spencer called the singing to order at 10:00 a.m. by leading 61t (CH). Ron Pen offered prayer.

The first session included selections from The Christian Harmony. In a brief business meeting officers were elected to serve for the 2009 singing as follows: Chairperson—Jane Spencer; Vice Chairperson—Ron Pen; Secretary—Chris Wilhelm.
